I really enjoy creating "stuff" for my pages and I love sharing it. Sometimes I just make stuff just to make it. I do this from my home and for enjoyment but I do like to know that it is appreciated.
Here is a little freebie but you will have to download it from Momma's. Just click the picture below and it will redirect you to Momma's where you will see the Freebie link. Please be kind enough to either leave a comment here or at the download site.

Scrapbooking
Scrapbooking has been around for a long time. I can remember my mother with "zigzag" scissors and tape and arranging photos with the memorbilia of a trip or vaction. It has come a long way since then of course with all of the specialtypaper and really cool elements. I just finished a 25 year anniversary album for my husband and believe it or not I found even Harley Davidson has gotten in on it.As much as it is loved, it is also expensive. The love of making a photo a memory iswhat keeps us doing it though. When you start with all of the storage compartments, and cutters, and the wonderful punches before you know it we have spent enough to pay for little Susies braces. It is more than a hobby but sometimes you just have to look for other opitions.
Digital Scrapbooking?
I realize that digital scrapbooking is still somewhat new to a lot people and although it seems like something to get into, thre is still the question "How do I get started?"Well it is easier than you may think. The first thing is having a digital camera because it makes it easier to access your pictures. If you don't and especially for the older pictures like the ones I have of my children growing up, they need to be scanned into a folder on your computer. The nextstep is to find a digital scrapbook program that you like. I started with Scrapbookflair myself. I knew absolutely nothing about digital scrapbooking but since all of my photo's had been scanned and saved to CD's I thought this would be easier than having to print all of them.Scrapbookflair is a free program and a good place to start because it gives you the chance to see if this is something you want to do and doesn't cost. There are a lot of programs out there and give free trials so you can see if you like them. There is Scrapbook Max that has a 30 trial period and is just under $50.00 and comes with a lot of kits for you to work with. Most programs are about the same cost, Hallmark, Art Explosion by Scrapbook Factory, and so many more.I use Paint Shop Pro myself but it is not for everyone. I have friends that prefer Photo Shop but as I said, it is what is comfortable to you. Check your computer to find whether or not you may alredy have a photo program.Once you have decided then just jump in and you will have a lot of fun creating memories.
Benifits of digital scrapbooking
Whether it is traditonal or digital scrapooking, the end is the same. You have made a photo into a story. There is just so much you can do with digital that it is mind boggeling. You can make as many copies of each page you create for friends and family. You can print your pages and slip them into an album. Depending on the size you choose you can go as large as 8 x10 or as small as 4 x 6. Most printers have a limit of 8.5 x 11 so you are free to decide. I print mine 8 x 8 and simply add then to an album. I make copies 6 x 6 of the pages each of my grandchildren want for thier books I made for them. I have a friend that does 8 x 8 and 8 x 10 and scraps them to a 12 x 12 album. When you are finished with a page you just click on the save button and nothing to clean up. Or if you are working on a page you don't have to worry about leaving everything laid out, just a click and it is where it was when you left. My oldest daughter lives next door and the grandchildren come in and out. I hated having to walk away from the stuff and then if one of the children might mess with any of that itsy bitsy stuff. It isn't hard to find digital designs for just about anything and any color. There are a lot of sites that offer "Freebies" like Momma's Scraps. There you can find all sorts of kits and such and if you can't find what you want, I do take requests even if you are not a member. There is a one time fee of $29.95 for everything. There are sites that charge by the kit or embelishment you choose. Then if you want to share them with family far away you can burn them to a cd and slip them into the mail. When they recieve it then they can print, save it to thier computer, or watch it on the tv even. You can make a copy for all that want one at a very small expense of about .20 not to mention you have a copy in case anything happens. In my case we lost everything in a house fire 5 years ago but all of my photo's were on cd's so atleast they weren't lost. For both of my daughters wedding's I made dvd's from the pages I made and added "thier" song to it. It was really wonderful to watch and of course I have them on my computer to watchwhen ever I want. You don't have to acomputer wiz to do any of this s I have only been "computer friendly" for the past 4 years. Trust me when I say if I can do it anyone can.
